Artist Statement

Drawing is a thinking process, a means through which I learn to focus on and extract those fleeting things that are going on in the Norfolk/Suffolk landscape. My journey is a personal one and involves listening to my emotional and intuitive responses, but it is also informed by my knowledge of the working methods and concerns of those East Anglian painters who have gone before me - in that sense it is a conversation about the way in which landscape challenges our perception of who and what we are and an attempt to communicate a Twenty-First Century understanding. I give talks to art societies, teach on workshops and am available for private tuition. I have a Master's degree Art and Design in Education.
