Artist Statement

Rob Woods is an artist who works in a range of 2D and 3D media. Having gained a degree in sculpture during the 1970s at Coventry he subsequently broadened his experience developing painting and printmaking skills. His recent work draws upon a variety of media and techniques. Working intuitively he develops imaginative themes, often inspired by his favourite films. Compassion, empathy and the way we strive to free ourselves from bureaucracy and frantic lifestyles, play an important role in the content of his work. Rob is interested in life journeys and the characters he creates often evolve and parody his own life experiences.
