Vanessa Pooley

I studied BA (Hons) Fine Art Sculpture at Norwich School of Art from 1978 to 1981, followed by a postgraduate diploma in sculpture at City and Guilds of London Art School.

After 20 years of sharing group studios in London I now live and work in Norwich. I have always worked in clay, which I fire and then cast into bronze at a local foundry. One way or another my work is about relationships. From how women in particular relate to their bodies, the subject of Mother and Child, and recently I have begun a series of angels and trees as a response to the global environment crisis.
